IAMSAR Solutions recently delivered another excellent course to the personnel of CAAT. Mr. Daniel Chicoyne shared all his SAR knowledge in Bangkok via the SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) course.
This course is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of aeronautical and/or maritime search and rescue (SAR) activities as part of the SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) responsibilities under a Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC), an Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre (ARCC), or a Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC).
It primarily focuses on all SAR activities from the initial onset of an incident until the conclusion of a mission. The course includes extensive academic instruction, practical hands-on exercises, and a full three days of active simulations specifically designed for the local environment and resources. It is tailor-made based on the organization’s area of responsibility, the typical incidents encountered, and the students’ level of knowledge.
This course is an absolute necessity for any personnel engaged in RCC operations. The CAAT personnel thoroughly enjoyed this highly interactive session.
