IAMSAR Solutions of Canada is pleased to announce that it has entered into a partnership agreement with Saudi Arabia based Falcon Wings Aviation Academy (FWAA) to provide search and rescue (SAR) training for the Saudi Air Navigation Services (SANS). IAMSAR Solutions will provide multiple specialized tailor-made SAR Mission Coordination (SMC) courses to SANS personnel who are responsible for aeronautical search and rescue in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The training sessions are based on international publications such as the International Maritime Organization (IMO) International Aeronautical and Maritime Search and Rescue (IAMSAR) manual, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Annex XII on search and rescue, the Canadian Aeronautical and Maritime search and rescue (CAMSAR) manual and the COSPAS-SARSAT system. The training will take place onsite in Jeddah Saudi Arabia in 2022. Each SMC course is three weeks in duration and includes extensive academic instruction, practical hands-on situation and regional-context simulations.

“We are extremely pleased to have developed solid relationships with key stakeholders in the Middle-East towards search and rescue training. This association with FWAA and SANS further cements our unrelenting commitment to standardize SAR training across all continents through highly skilled and qualified Canadian Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) subject matter expertise” said Mr. Jean Houde, CEO IAMSAR Solutions.

Mr. Wadee Sagor, CEO of FWAA commented:

“We are excited to collaborate with IAMSAR Solutions to bring this critical training to the local market.  Air Search and Rescue is fast becoming a high priority in Saudi Arabia.  This strategic partnership will reach a new level for international standards in Air and Sea Search and Rescue operations.  We look forward to a fruitful and valuable relationship.”
